ADT
The TELCOR system can also receive ADT messages for use in validating the patient ID entered on the Point of Care testing device. The TELCOR system can receive an HL7 ADT feed directly from the HIS, from an engine or even from the LIS/EMR, and can accept an unlimited number of feeds for configurations where a single system is used by multiple hospitals and each hospital has its own ADT feed. Specifically, this data is used to:
- Provide patient information to input devices or systems that can accept patient information.
- Validate the patient ID received from the device and/or select an episode/account when the patient ID received from the device is a Medical Record Number. The "match and tag" data elements used by the TELCOR system are:
- Result date/time received from the testing device
- Patient Admit and Discharge date/time with optionally defined grace periods
- Optional patient category/facility and location
- Optional device category/facility and location
- Provide both the account number and medical record to Misys for customers who use the account number as the patient ID on the device
