TELCOR Moves to New Office Location Due to Recent Growth

Lincoln, Nebraska – August 1, 2009 – TELCOR Inc, an industry leader in healthcare informatics, will be moving to a new location August 1, 2009.  In a time when many companies are downsizing or closing their doors, TELCOR has continued to see growth and progress in its niche area of the healthcare technology market.  This success has led TELCOR to expand its staff and services, resulting in the need for more office space.

TELCOR specializes in providing software products for point of care management, outreach compliance and clinical departments.  Founded in 1995 by Jim Terrano, Deb Larson and Becky Clarke, the initial focus of the company was to provide consulting services to hospitals, clinical laboratories, healthcare computing and point of care device vendors.  After several years of successful operations, the company began to develop its two current products lines:  Point of Care Integration and Laboratory Outreach Information Systems.  TELCOR is one of Lincoln’s best-kept secrets in terms of both the unique products it provides to the healthcare technology industry and the employment opportunities it provides to more than 70 employees in Lincoln.

Despite the recent economic struggles of many businesses and industries, TELCOR has continued to grow and thrive in the healthcare informatics market.  This growth has resulted in a 53% increase in employees over the last two years.  As a result of this expansion, TELCOR has outgrown its current 16,000 square foot office space in the Lincolnshire Square Office Park at 70th and A Streets and will be moving a larger building, still within the Lincolnshire Office Park, effective August 1, 2009.  This new office area at 7101 A Street will provide nearly 30,000 square feet of office space.

“This move is very exciting for us.  In a time when many companies are struggling, we are maintaining our position and are able to plan for future growth,” said Jim Terrano, president and CEO.  “Our employees are scattered across three areas in two different buildings right now.  By bringing everyone together in one building, it will not only improve our daily workflow, but it will enhance the general work environment.”

TELCOR has also recently brought more focus to the employee environment by adding a wellness program, while many other companies are choosing to eliminate these kinds of programs.  These kinds of benefits, combined with a casual dress code and open work environment have provided TELCOR with opportunities to hire highly qualified employees in their respective expertise areas.

There are many secrets to TELCOR’s success.  Timing, industry experience, unmatched customer service and a commitment to its employees are all factors that have contributed to TELCOR’s prominent position in the healthcare informatics industry.  TELCOR entered the healthcare informatics industry at a pivotal time for point of care data management.  Introduced in the mid-1980s, point of care testing is diagnostic testing done at or near the site of the patient, using instruments such as portable handheld blood glucose meters.  The results of these tests must reach the electronic medical record, and TELCOR has provided more than 1,200 hospitals across North America with a solution that connects more point of care devices with more electronic medical records than any other vendor.

In 2005, TELCOR launched a second product line called Outreach Information System® (OIS®).  OIS provides clinical, pathology or cytology laboratories with a modular set of system tools to help them be successful with their outreach business.  These tools include a system for order entry and management and result inquiry and a billing system for pricing, billing and business management. Customers in the Lincoln/Omaha area that use TELCOR’s point of care and/or outreach solutions include:  Bryan LGH Medical Center, Nebraska Heart Hospital, Physicians Laboratory Services, Inc., UNMC Regional Pathology Services and Methodist Hospital.

TELCOR, a Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner, develops products that use the most current technology available and are designed in a way that anticipates and plans for future change and expansion.  While much of the software available to hospitals and labs today can be somewhat limiting, TELCOR has found a way to meet its customer’s needs not only for today, but also for tomorrow.

TELCOR’s stability and continued success in a tough market is evident by its consistent growth and need for a larger facility to work from.  TELCOR is poised and ready for the challenges that face the point of care and laboratory outreach industries, both in the present and in the future.
